MAJOR LEAGUE DREIDEL

Thanks to my friends over at REIGN IN BLONDE for bringing this event to my attention. I'd heard of MAJOR LEAGUE DREIDEL, but didn't realize it was a real event. Well, on December 12th at the Knitting Factory here in NYC is the 3rd Annual event that features some great bands as well like GODS OF FIRE.

SEPTEMBER 5TH - INTERNATIONAL BACON DAY

Mark your calendars now, because in two weeks it will be time to celebrate INTERNATIONAL BACON DAY! September 5th is not only the first day of college football (well, for at least my alma mater), but everyone will be celebrating all that is our favorite pork product. This is always a great precursor to the celebration of Rosh Hashanah, which is just two weeks later this year.

There will be events going on worldwide, so lookout for one near you!

Hi everyone, I've taken a little bit of a sabbath from BaconJew lately, so my apologies for not bringing the latest bacon and Jewish news to you. A lot of new visitors here because of my friends at THIS IS WHY YOU'RE FAT putting up the BACONCADO story on their site, so welcome!

Something that just showed up in the mailbag was for BROOKLYN BREWERY'S new "bacon beer". Check out the story over at the GOTHAMIST...can't wait to make it over to Williamsburg to try it.
